Ok here is the Tell A Friend script that I made / use.

It sends an email to you (the owner), to the friend, and to the sender, all targeted to offer something special to the sender as a thank you for passing on the word. You should always give them a bonus.

It's a PHP solution.

Don't worry it's completely spam hijacking proof, so no spamming robots will hijack your form.

It's setup really easy to change the variables. You just need to change a few variables and it'll work for you.

There are 4 files.

  • form.html - this is the form that you put on your site which the user sees, massage this to blend into your site

  • thankyou.html - this is the thank you page where the user of the tell-a-friend is directed to, it can be either a new file like this one, or an existing page (like a blog or whatever)

  • tellafriend.php - this is the brains of the process and this is the file with the variables in it to change

  • formcheck.js - this is a javascript file for form checking

I suggest that you keep it in a directory all together and remember to test it out of production first until you are happy with it.
